Here are your nominees for the Etihad Player of the Month for April 2025.

Keaton Parks

A steady presence in the heart of midfield, Keaton Parks brought poise and control to City’s engine room in April.

His leadership has proven invaluable in guiding the team’s younger players through a challenging start to the season, while his ability to connect play has been key to City’s attacking transitions.

Parks also marked the month with his first goal of the season, finding the net against Minnesota United. With consistent performances and growing influence in the final third, Parks is a standout nominee for April.

Matt Freese

Matt Freese continued to shine between the posts for New York City FC, anchoring the defense with confidence and authority.

The 26-year-old helped the team to two clean sheets in April, combining vocal leadership with decisive shot-stopping in some difficult fixtures.

Freese’s commanding presence and crucial saves underscore his growing importance to the squad, making him a deserving contender for this month’s honors.

Justin Haak

The 23-year-old has played in every game of the MLS season so far, and showed his value to the team in April.

Deputising as both a central defender and central midfielder, his ability to switch between the two roles has been hugely helpful for Pascal Jansen. A physical defender that is rarely bested in 1v1 situations, Haak is also supremely comfortable on the ball.

He was a major factor behind City keeping two clean sheets in April, and after being patient for a starting spot, has grabbed the opportunity with both hands. A worthy nominee in April, his growing influence on the team shows no sign of slowing down as May approaches.
