New York City FC are delighted to announce the re-signing of the first esports player in the clubâs history, Chris âdidychrislitoâ Holly.
The Haitian-born New Yorker will rep NYCFC through the FIFA 19 season, which kicks off with the release of the new EA Sports title tomorrow (Friday September 28).
Holly told NYCFC.com: âIâm really happy to be renewing my contract with NYCFC. This club is where I started my professional FIFA journey, and I want to continue to play and improve here over the next 12 monthsâ
âFIFA 18 didnât end in the way that I wanted it to, but now that the new game is here, Iâm looking forward to getting back on the grind. With the clubâs support, I know I can improve my game and challenge for titles in FIFA 19.â
Playing on PS4, Holly won his first-ever tournament representing NYCFC at the FUT Regionals in Vancouver in April 2017.
From there, he went on to reach the finals of the FICWC 2017, and went as far as the Global Series Playoffs in FIFA 18, only just missing out on a spot at the FeWC Grand Finals.
Holly enjoyed seven â40-0â Weekend League finishes in FIFA 18, peaking at a rank of fourth worldwide in December 2017.
With the release of FIFA 19 occurring on Friday, Chris will go again and continue his professional career with New York City Football Club.
